Central Coast's recruitment drive for the next A-League season has gathered pace, with the club signing 20-year-old Australian defender Harry Ascroft.
Ascroft joins the Gosford-based outfit on a three-year deal from Dutch side VVV-Venlo after seven appearances over two seasons in the second division.
Coach Tony Walmsley said Ascroft's character and work ethic made him an ideal signing, as the Mariners rebuilt from last season's disappointing 8th-place finish.
"Harry is a long-term prospect, but can he play and have an impact this season? I think so," he said.
Ascroft has played once for the Australian under-19 side, scoring a goal.
